- Brigantine National Wildlife Refuge - Forsythe Refuge's Brigantine and Barnegat Divisions were originally two distinct refuges, established in 1939 and 1967 respectively, to protect tidal wetland and shallow bay habitat for migratory water birds. In 1984 they were combined under the Edwin B. Forsythe name, in honor of the late conservationist Congressman from New Jersey.
The refuge's location in one of the Atlantic Flyway's most active flight paths makes it an important link in the vast network of national wildlife refuges administered nationwide by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Its value for the protection of water birds and their habitat continues to increase as people develop the New Jersey shore for our own use. Forsythe Refuge is a part of the Hudson River/New York Bight Ecosystem and The New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail. In 1986 it was designated a Wetland of International Importance under The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance--otherwise known as the Ramsar Convention. - Atlantic City Aquarium - The Atlantic City Historic Waterfront Foundation was incorporated in 1976 and functions in a public-private partnership with the City of Atlantic City specifically to operate and develop Historic Gardner’s Basin. It is a 501 c tax exempt organization. Its purpose is to provide waterfront recreational access to the public, conduct marine education programs for schools, youth groups and adult eco-tour groups and Maritime Historical preservation. A unique feature of the Historic Gardner’s Basin as an attraction is it’s accessibility via watercraft. Boaters from throughout the area visit the Basin regularly for its restaurants, the Atlantic City Aquarium, the Crafters Village and other amenities.

- Lucy the Elephant - Margate New Jersey -
Lucy The Elephant stands in a feeding position, trunk down. Access to the interior is gained through spiral stairways in the hind legs, one being for the entrance and the other the exit. Entrance stairs lead to a reception room, which is 18 by 18 feet. Other rooms are off this main one. There are 22 windows.
In the construction of this monster, made of wood and metal, it is said that a million pieces of timber and 8,560 ribs or arches, 200 kegs of nails, and four tons of bolts and bars were used. It required 12,000 square feet of tin to cover the structure.
The body is 38 feet long and 80 feet in circumference; the head is 16 feet long and 48 feet in circumference. Lucy's neck is six feet long and 48 feet in circumference; legs are 22 feet long and 10 feet in diameter.
The ears are 17 feet long and 10 feet wide. It is estimated that each weighs 2,000 pounds.
Lucy's tusks are 22 feet long; tail 26 feet and eyes 18 inches in diameter. The latter are made of glass.
It is estimated that Lucy can be seen (without use of binoculars) up to eight miles.

- Brigantine Aquatic Center - The Brigantine Aquatic Center is dedicated to provide a safe environment for the novice to serious swimmer. Our staff is especially focused on teaching children to be safe in and around water while providing a caring and fun atmosphere. Our instruction will also include proper swimming techniques to help make all swimmers more proficient. We will also focus our attention on aquatic fitness via water exercise classes including special class for seniors and arthritics.
- The Root Beer Barrel Surf and Kayak - Beginner surfers come in all ages and in 2005 there were as many girls as boys taking up the sport. Many adults mistakenly think they are too old to take up surfing. Age doesn’t matter, what matters more is the ability to swim and the stubborn attitude needed to not give up during the learning process.
